Two convicted sex offenders who were apprehended by members of the public in Mullaghbawn last weekend have been returned to prison.
Twenty six year old Alexis Guesto from Bessbrook – who is also known as Jason Lydiard – and James White (48), originally from Cloughreagh, had previously been convicted of a string of sexual offences against children. The pair sparked a nationwide hunt last month, being sought in relation to serious breaches of their release conditions as well as warrant violations. Both were arrested after they were discovered tied to a bench in the south Armagh village.
White was recalled to prison, whilst Lydiar d was remanded in custody to Maghaberry prison after appearing in Newry Crown Court on three counts of breaching the terms of his prevention order by leaving his approved address in February and failing to advise of his whereabouts. The Bessbrook man will appear in court for sentencing on 5th June.
